I have never really been the type of teenager that went to a lot of concerts growing up. I’ve been to a few festivals with lots of mainly local artists but never gigs with just one artist or band. But oh my god how things have changed – I LOVE IT!
Back in January I started listening to a lot of Ellie Goulding‘s new songs and I remember thinking to myself ‘next time she comes to Denmark, I’m gonna see her’. Literally the same night my friend texted me saying she couldn’t make it to our appointment on the following Saturday because she was going to see Ellie Goulding live. Seriously what are the chances? Luckily there was still tickets and they were actually really cheap (made it even better). The concert was amazing even though I didn’t know every song but I had a lovely evening and became an even bigger fan of Ellie’s.
Next concerts were last month, June 16th and 17th, to see One Direction. I am not kidding when I say they were some of the best nights of my life. I have been in love with 1D for more than a year now and seeing them in real life was mind blowing. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw them for the first time. I still really can’t believe they were actually there. The music was amazing, I knew every single lyric and the boys were just amazing to hear and watch. I was in my own little bubble the whole concert and I didn’t care about anyone or anything. I was just having the best time.
Our fan project for Don’t Forget Where You Belong was extremely successful – we held up hearts with the Danish, Irish and British flag depending on where you were sat. They boys loved it and it gave this strong family feeling – we did this for them like they do everything they do for us.
Hearing Little Things live, seeing the boys and the thousands of lights that lit up the stadium brought tears to my eyes. I will never forget it. Never. (If you wish to see something special from the concerts see my Instagram)
Two weeks ago I went to my fourth concert this year – Backstreet Boys. WHAT. A. NIGHT. I went with my mom and we had such a good time! The weather was beautiful, we had a nice dinner and there was a really nice vibe in the arena. The guys were really funny and it was clear that every single woman in there was 15 years old again for one night. They sounded really good and they got some serious dance skills but also rocked the acoustic part of the show. Classics like As Long You Love Me and I Want It That Way were so cool and got the whole arena dancing and singing along. (Check my Instagram for a video!)
There were two ladies in front of us and watching them go crazy, dancing, screaming and singing every single line is exactly how I imagine myself and my friends in 20 years time going to a One Direction concert!
August 29th I am going to see Rasmus Seebach who’s a famous Danish artist who makes lots of catchy pop songs. I’m going with my mom in my hometown so it couldn’t be more perfect. Excited for a lovely night with loads of nice music and hopefully nice weather.
BUT HERE IS SOMETHING EVEN MORE EXCITING!
I just bought two tickets for me and my best friend to see 5 Seconds Of Summer next year in May! They were supposed to support 1D on their WWAT but unfortunately they weren’t able to make it to the concerts in Denmark which is why I am really really excited about going to their own headline tour! My friend doesn’t know I bought her a ticket so hopefully she will be just as excited as I am. She deserves it with everything that’s going on (see my ‘Life is unfair’ post for details).
Others I am dying to see live are Little Mix, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran (he’s actually coming to Denmark soon but nobody wants to go with me), Olly Murs, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, Taylor Swift and loads of other amazing artists. Plus I’ve wanted for a long time to go to a YouTuber convention like Vidcon or Playlist Live. Next year I’m there!
I can honestly say I love going to concerts. It’s something you will remember forever and it’s so much more worth spending your money on memories like these instead of a new sweater or a meal at a café. You just can’t beat the feeling seeing one of your favorites artists or bands standing right in front of you singing songs you know by heart.
If you’ve never been – what are you waiting for?
Give it a go – you won’t regret it!
That’s a promise.
Tell me about your favorite artists! What’s your best concert experience? Who do you wanna see in the future? Tell me it’s so fun to hear!
