How would you react if you saw yourself and your partner in your 50s? 70s? 90s? The couple, Kristin and Tavis, are getting married in a month, and got the chance to see how they are gonna look like in … Continue reading
This probably doesn’t come as a shock if you’ve been here for a while, but I am a complete sucker for the mainstream music industry. I am not picky when it comes to music, if a song is good then … Continue reading
Today a little girl was out shopping with her mom when I overheard them talking about a holiday quite similar to Halloween that we have coming up soon in Denmark. The little girl wanted to be Anna from Frozen because as she said “she is just like me, mom, so I only need a new dress!”
Let It Go from Frozen is one of the most important songs from one of the most important Disney movies ever made. It is extraordinary how it has captured the hearts of so many people, young and old, all over the world. Being true to who you are, no matter how other people might feel about it, is what really matters. Anna and Elsa represents the modern girl in every sense; there’s Anna, the awkward and carefree teenager who just wants to have fun, laugh, love and live her life. Then there’s Elsa who wants exactly the same but is afraid of being who she truly is. Am I right if I say that we all know how it feels to be Anna, but also how it feels to be Elsa?
The soundtrack for the movie is outstanding and it wasn’t a surprise it won two Grammy Awards last night for best compilation soundtrack and best single for visual media. If the future Disney movies are just half as good as Frozen, then not only will the many little girls and boys around the world be very very lucky, but so will all of us grown-ups (who’s still a child by heart).
I can’t wait for the next movie to be released and a new amazing soundtrack to be listened to.
Below is a video I have watched more times than I can count (and more times that I care to admit). I am not sure why, but for some reason it captures me. I don’t know if it’s because of the song, their incredible voices, the power behind the lyrics and melody, or just the simple fact that every time I listen to it I get goosebumps? How amazing is it that we can despite speaking different languages enjoy the same music? Music truly is an universal language.
What do you think? x
I know, I know. I’ve been really absent this past week. Lots of stuff has been going on and I’ve barely had anytime to myself let alone blogging, and now I have come down with a cold. Ain’t that just lovely. University started today so that was awesome (yes, that was very sarcastic).
However I have tried to expand my musical horizon on Spotify and listened to artists, I don’t usually listen to. I still listen to many of the songs from a few weeks ago, and you can find them right here, if you like. If you are more into chill songs, I have a playlist for that too right here 🙂
Let me know what you think of my picks this week in the comments below, and share your faves too. I’d appreciate anything that can make this snotty hell a bit better.
1. Sugar by Maroon 5
How freaking cool is the video!?
2. Never Been Better by Olly Murs
This song is literally my jam at the moment. I lo-o-o-ve the beat, it’s so damn catchy.
3. Cheerleader by OMI (Felix Jaehn remix)
4. Get Over It by McBusted
I saw McBusted live last year as they opened for One Direction on their Where We Are Tour and since then I’ve been really into them. Get Over It is my favorite song of their new album so far, and the music video is pretty fun too.
5. Sledgehammer by Fifth Harmony
6. The Heart Wants What It Wants by Selena Gomez
7. Home To Mama by Justin Bieber and Cody Simpson
Excuse me while I go sob in a corner.
8. Fool’s Gold by One Direction
By far one of the most beautiful songs they’ve ever released. Lyrics, melody, voices. I love it.
So that’s what I am listening to at the moment and I hope you like it! It always fun to hear what you think, so pleeeease let me know 😀
It’s #MusicMonday again, woo hooooo! (It was meant to go up last night but you know technical difficulties is a thing, so bare with me on this one, okay?)
Do you know the days where the world just becomes too much and you need to slow things down and just chill out? Days where people should just go shh and let you be? Songs that make you think and wonder or just let you be sad if you’re sad, happy if you’re happy, frustrated, confused..? Me too. Oh indeed me too. One of the first playlists I made on Spotify was a very long list purely dedicated to the lovely world of slow, chill, beautiful songs. Not necessarily sad songs, just songs that I love to listen to when I just need to be or let out my inner Mariah Carey.
Below I share some of my favorite songs on that chill playlist. Some you probably already know and others might be completely new to you. Listen to the ones you don’t know first. Who knows? You might hear something you like.
My top 11 chill songs for any mood
1. Wanted by Hunter Hayes
2. The Man Who Can’t Be Moved by The Script
3. A Thousand Years by Christina Perri
4. All Of The Stars by Ed Sheeran

What do you think of the songs? What’s on your chill playlist?
Music is one of the most important things in my life. I have played music since I was 9 years old, I listen to it hours and hours every single day and I am pursuing a career in the music business. I honestly don’t know where I would be today if it wasn’t for music; it keeps me sane and is the best escape when the world is just too much.
Since music is a such a big part of who I am I decided that each Monday I will do a post entirely dedicated to music. It can be anything from my all time favorite songs to the tunes that’s been on replay for days. Sometimes it can also be entire albums or artists I love. It can be tours, videos, award shows, general music news.. Basically just all things music and I really hope you will like it.
The music you listen to says so much about who you are.. I hope you will enjoy learning a bit more about me and what I am about. Music Monday will (obviously) only be on Mondays so on other days my blog are back to usual 🙂
Tweet me @SimplyYoungHQ and tell me what you think of #MusicMonday or comment down below. I will make you a cake if you do.
